🍌 Banana Murals by Hibrarin Dias: Local Art Inside Our Walls
When you step into our guesthouse in Paul, Cape Verde, you won’t just find a place to rest — you’ll be welcomed by bold, joyful murals that celebrate the heart of the valley in a truly unique way.
We recently invited local artist Hibrarin Dias to transform our interior walls, and the result is something we’re incredibly proud of: a playful, expressive series of banana-themed murals that honor both the landscape and the culture of this region.
🎨 Why Bananas?
Paul is known for its lush greenery and terraced mountainsides — and yes, for its bananas! These fruits are more than just a snack here: they’re part of the scenery, the economy, and even the soul of the place. We wanted to bring a piece of that vibrancy indoors, and Hibrarin brought it to life with his signature style.
Each mural is full of motion, color, and charm. Some are big and bold, splashing across entire walls. Others are subtle and tucked into corners, like cheerful secrets waiting to be discovered.
🖌️ About the Artist
Hibrarin Dias is a local artist known for his lively, contemporary take on traditional Cape Verdean themes. His work bridges the gap between the everyday and the imaginative — and nowhere is that more visible than in the murals he’s painted for us.
Bringing in a local artist was important to us. We wanted these walls to reflect the creative energy of the island, and to support homegrown talent.
🌿 A Stay That Feels Like Paul
The murals aren’t just decoration — they’re part of the experience we offer. Whether you’re sipping coffee in the morning or heading back after a hike, these cheerful scenes are here to greet you. They’re a reminder that even a quiet guesthouse can be full of color and personality.
Come stay, and see them for yourself. 🌞🍌
