Getting to us is all part of the adventure! Whether you’re flying in, crossing the ocean, or winding your way up the mountain roads, we’ve made it easy to find your way to The Pink Banana. Here’s how to get from São Vicente to our little corner of paradise in Paul Valley.
From Cesária Évora Airport (VXE) to Mindelo Port
When you arrive, you’ll find taxis waiting just outside the airport. The ride to the harbor takes about 15–20 minutes and usually costs 1.000 –1.200 CVE (€9–11).
Ferry to Porto Novo (Santo Antão)
There are two ferry companies:
Ferries depart around 8h in the morning and 16h in the afternoon. The trip takes around an hour and costs about 1.500 CVE (€13). You can buy your ticket at the port (it’s best to arrive an hour before departure) or online, though the website doesn’t always cooperate.
From Porto Novo to The Pink Banana
Option A – Coletivo (shared minibus):
Take a coletivo to Villa das Pombas, then switch to another one heading up to Eito. The total cost is around 400 CVE (€3.60). It’s slower than a taxi, but it’s an affordable and authentic way to travel.
Option B – Private taxi:
A taxi can take you straight to The Pink Banana for about 4.000 CVE (€36). If you’d like to enjoy stunning views and get a glimpse of the beauty of the island, you can ask your driver to take the Estrada da Corda, it’s a beautiful scenic route and costs around 7.000 CVE (€64).
Feel free to contact us so we can arrange a driver for you, we’re happy to help!
